ABOUT DESTINATIONS

Jaipur is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan in Northern India. It was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amer after whom the city is named. As of 2011, the city has a population of 3.1 million, making it the eleventh most populous city in the country. Jaipur is the third largest city in north India after Delhi and Lucknow respectively. Jaipur is also known as the Pink City of India. Jaipur is located 260 KM from the Indian capital New Delhi. Jaipur forms a part of the west Golden Triangle tourist circuit along with Agra (240 KM). Jaipur is a popular tourist destination in India and serves as a gateway to other tourist destinations in Rajasthan such as Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur and Mount Abu. It evokes the royal family that once ruled the region and that, in 1727, founded what is now called the Old City or “Pink City” for its trademark building color. At the center of its stately street grid (notable in India) stands the opulent, colonnaded City Palace complex. With gardens, courtyards and museums, part of it is still a royal residence.

Mandawa is the 18th century princely state in Rajasthan, is also known as an ‘Open Art Gallery’ for its beautifully painted Havelis (mansions). The city of Mandawa was made a Thikana in the mid of 18th century by the Bhojraj Ji Kasubsub clan of Shekhawat Rajputs.

Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan, located in the Thar Desert of the northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, a Rajput chief of the Rathore clan. Jodhpur is a popular tourist destination in Rajasthan, featuring many places, forts and temples, set in the stark landscape of the Thar Desert. The city is known as the "Sun City" for the bright and sunny weather it enjoys all the year round. Jodhpur is also known as "Blue City" because of the blue colours that decorate many of the houses in the old city area.
