Shimla is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, in the Himalayan foothills. Kinnaur is one of twelve administrative districts in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The district is divided into three administrative areas – Pooh, Kalpa, and Bhaba Nagar and has five Tehsils. The administrative headquarters of Kinnaur district is at Reckong Peo. From here Kinnaur Kailash considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva, can be viewed. A mountainous area, ranging in altitude from 2,320 to 6,816 meters (7,612 to 22,362 ft), Kinnaur is one of the smallest districts in India by population. It is famous for the Kinnaur Kailash, a mountain sacred to Hindus, close to the Tibetan border. Sarahan is small village located in Himachal Pradesh, India. Town is famous for its Bhimakali Temple, originally known as Bhimadevi Temple, which is dedicated to the mother goddess Bhimakali. The temple is situated at about 170 KM from Shimla city and it is one of 51 Shakti Peethas. The village is known as the "gateway of Kinnaur". Sangla is a city in the Baspa Valley, also referred to as the Sangla valley, in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh, India, close to the Tibetan border. Sangla Valley or the Baspa Valley starts at Karcham and ends at Chitkul. Sangla is the major town in the valley with a petrol pump, Bank ATMs, Post Office, Restaurants, Bar, mid range hotels and shops. The valley is surrounded by forested slopes and offers views of the high mountains. Its location in the greater Himalayan range gives it a milder climate than the plains. Besides the natural beauty of Great Himalaya Kamru Fort, Mata Devi Temple & Bearing Nag Temples are the main attractions of the Valley. Kalpa is a small town in the Sutlej river valley, above Recong Peo in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh in the Indian Himalayas. Inhabited by Kinnauri people and famous for its apple orchards. Apples are a major cash-crop for the region. The local inhabitants follow a syncretism of Hinduism and Buddhism, and many temples in Kalpa are dedicated to both Hindu and Buddhist gods and goddesses.

Day 01: Arrival Shimla + Shimla Local Sightseeing Tour

Arrive at Shimla, check in to hotel. After breakfast and some rest local sightseeing of Shimla city, Shimla is the capital city of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, in the Himalayan foothills. Day 02: Shimla – Kufri – Naldehra – Narkanda – Sarahan (170 Km) Travel time 6 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Shimla hotel and drive to Sarahan en route visiting Kufri, Naldehra and Narkanda. Evening arrival at Sarahan – The village is known as the gateway of Kinnaur district. Sarahan is small picturesque village in Himachal Pradesh of India. It is the site of famous Bhimakali Temple, originally known as Bhimadevi Temple, dedicated to the mother goddess Bhimakali, presiding deity of the rulers of the former Bushahr State, check in to hotel, after refresh visit to famous Bheema Kali Temple Complex – In the same complex visit other temples such as Narsingh Shrine of Bhairon and Lord Raghunath. Bird Park, near the temple complex, it also houses of the state bird as Monaal which is a great attraction. Evening free for your own activities or explore Sarahan village and overnight stay at Sarahan hotel.

Day 03: Sarahan – Sangla/Raksham (90+20 Km) Travel time 3/4 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Sarahan hotel and drive to Sangla/Raksham – Sangla is a city in the Baspa Valley, also referred to as the Sangla valley, in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh, India, close to the Tibetan border.  On arrival, check in to hotel, after refresh free for independent activities or explore Sangla local market and overnight stay at Sangla/Raksham hotel.

Day 04: Sangla – Chhitkul – Raksham – Sangla (35 Km) 

After leisurely breakfast full day sightseeing tour of Sangla and Chhitkul, drive to Chhitkul/Chitkul – Chitkul is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the last inhabited Indian village near the Indo-China border. The Indian road ends here. Later drive to Sangla en route visiting Raksham Village, Azad Kashmir (Located at across the River Baspa) and Fish Farm (Located at across the River Baspa). On arrival at Sangla visit to Tibetan Wood Carving Centre – A paradise for shopaholics, this place is famous for its Tibetan products made of wood carvings. Bering Nag Temple – Must visit this temple, it is one of the most important temples for Hindus. Very fine an architectural work in the temple. Kamru Fort – This fort is a perfect place for a glimpse in to the artistic legacy of past. Now it is converted into a temple and it is dedicated to Hindu Goddess Kamakhya Devi. Sangla Meadow – Lush green meadows spotted with mud patches and a magnificent backdrop of snow covered Himalayan Mountains. Buddhist Monastery – It is one of the major attractions in the Sangla Valley, attracting a large number of tourists. Baspa River – A beauty full place for an adventure activities with the scenic beauty for photography and also an ideal place for fishing, camping and trekking. Day 05: Sangla/Raksham – Reckong Peo – Kalpa (50 Km) Travel time 2 hours (Approx)

After leisurely breakfast check out from Sangla/Raksham hotel and drive to Kalpa is situated at a high altitude of 2759 meters from the sea level, on the old Hindustan-Tibet Road. Reckong Peo is district head quarter of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Kalpa is located around 9 Km away from Reckong Peo. It is a border district of Himachal Pradesh. Kinnaur is also rich in flora & fauna. The culture and language is different from other parts of the state. Kinnaur is a tribal district of Himachal Pradesh. It is also famous for best quality of Apple’s. On arrival at Kalpa, check in to hotel. After refresh free for your own activities or explore Kalpa village/local market and overnight stay at Kalpa hotel.

Day 06: Kalpa – Reckong Peo – Kalpa Sightseeing Tour (13 Km)

After leisurely breakfast full day excursion and visiting Kalpa Village, Kinner Kailash Mountain Peak, Bhaba Valley, Chandika Temple and various monasteries of Reckong Peo. Evening explore Reckong Peo local market and overnight stay at Kalpa hotel. Reckong Peo town is a last place where foreign tourists can get Inner Line Permit to visit Spiti Valley.

Day 07: Reckong Peo – Shimla (220 Km) Travel time 7/8 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Kalpa hotel and drive back to Shimla, evening arrive at Shimla, transfer to hotel and overnight stay at Shimla hotel.

Day 08: Shimla Departure
