Hidden Himachal Pradesh - Lahaul & Spiti 

Manali is a Valley nestled in the mountains of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh near the northern end of the Kullu Valley at an altitude of 2,050 Meters (6,726 ft) in the Beas River Valley. It is located in the Kullu district, about 270 KM north of the state capital, Shimla. Manali It is a popular tourist destination and serves as the gateway to Lahaul & Spiti district as well as Leh. Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in India’s. It has a reputation as a backpacking center and honeymoon destination. Set on the Beas River, it’s a gateway for skiing in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. It's also a jumping-off point for paragliding, rafting and mountaineering in the Pir Panjal mountains, home to 4,000m-high Rohtang Pass.

Lahaul & Spiti district located in Himachal Pradesh consists of the two formerly separate districts of Lahaul and Spiti. The present administrative centre is Keylong in Lahaul. Kunzum La or Kunzum Pass (altitude 4,551 Meters, 14,931 ft) is the entrance pass to the Spiti Valley from Lahaul. It is 21 km from Chandra Taal. This district is connected to manali through the Rohtang Pass. To the south, Spiti ends 24 KM from Tabo, at the Sumdo where the road enters to Kinnaur and joins with National Highway No. 22. The natural scenery and Buddhist monasteries such as Kye/Kee, Dhankar, Shashur, Guru Ghantal, Khungri Monastery in Pin Valley, Tnagyud Gompa of the Sakya Sect in Komic, Sherkhang Gompa in Lahlung, the only Buddhist Mummy of a Monk in Gue around 550 years old and Chandra Taal Lake are the main tourist attractions of the region. One of the most interesting places is the Tabo Monastery, located 45 KM from Kaza, capital of the Spiti region. There is a modern guest houses with a dining hall and all facilities are available for tourist.

Day 01: Delhi – Manali (573 Km) 12/14 Hours journey By A/C Volvo Coach

Evening at 5.30PM (Reporting time 5.00PM) travel to Manali by A/C Volvo Coach from R K  Ashram, Metro Station, Gate No. 3 or Majnu Ka Tilla, Near Petrol Pump by overnight journey.

Day 02: Arrival Manali + Manali Local Sightseeing Tour (By Private Vehicle)

Morning arrive at Manali, on arrival check in to hotel. After breakfast and some rest proceed for half day local sightseeing tour of Manali and visiting Hadimba Devi Temple (Temple is dedicated to the wife of Bheem), Manu Temple – This magnificent temple is dedicated to the sage Manu, who is said to be the creator of the world. Club House – Club House is an amusement zone and it has indoor game facilities. Vashisht Temple & Sulpher hot spring) – This temple is dedicated to the great sage Vashisht in the village of Vashisht located 3 Km away from Manali. Tibetan Monastery – Tibetan Monastery is one of the famous tourist spot in Manali and is famous for weaving colour full carpets and Van Vihar – Van Vihar is a famous picnic spot in Manali also famous for Indian movies shooting at Mall Road. Later free to stroll in the famous shopping place of Manali town at The Mall and overnight stay at Manali hotel.  

Day 03: Manali – Rohtang Pass – Kunzum Pass – Chandertal Lake – Kaza (185 Km) Travel time 9/10 hours (Approx)  

Early morning check out from hotel and drive to Kaza en route visiting Rohtang Pass – Located at a height of 3979 Meters. Rohtang Pass is on the highway to Keylong/Leh. In winters, the pass remains closed but is open from June to October for motor vehicles. This pass is a gateway to Lahaul Spiti, Pangi and Leh Ladakh Valley, en route visiting Kothi, Gulaba Fall, Rahala Fall, Marhi, Rani Nalaha. Spend some time at Rohtang Pass. Continue drive to Kaza and also visit to Kunzum Pass and Chandertal Lake – Chandra Taal, or Chandra Tal is situated in the Spiti part of the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. The name of the lake originates from its crescent shape. It is situated at an altitude of about 4,300 meters in the Himalayas. Evening arrive at Kaza and overnight stay at Kaza hotel.

Day 04: Kaza – Tabo – Kaza (45 Km) Travel time 2 hours (Approx)

After breakfast proceed for Tabo sightseeing and drive to Tabo, on arrival at Tabo visit to more then 1000 year old monastery of Tabo – Tabo Monastery is located in the Tabo village of Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, northern India. The town surrounds a Buddhist monastery which, according to legend, is said to be over a thousand years old. The Dalai Lama has expressed his desire to retire to Tabo, since he maintains that the Tabo Monastery is one of the holiest. Later explore Tabo village and drive back to Kaza, on arrival at Kaza free for your own activities or explore local market of Kaza and overnight stay at Kaza hotel.

Day 05: Kaza – Kee – Kibber – Kaza Sightseeing Tour (18 Km) 1 Hours journey

After leisurely breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Kee, Kibber& Kaza, drive to Kibber en route visiting Kee Monastery and Kee Gate – Kee Gompa is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery located on top of a hill at an altitude of 4,166 meters (13,668 ft) above from sea level, close to the Spiti River, in the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, Lahaul and Spiti district. It is the biggest monastery of Spiti Valley and a religious training centre for Lamas. It reportedly had 100 monks in 1855. Continue drive to Kibber (Highest motorable road of the world) and explore Kibber Village. Later drive back to Kaza – The town of Kaza is the sub divisional headquarters of the remote Spiti Valley in the Lahaul and Spiti district of the state of Himachal Pradesh in the Western Himalayas of India. The largest township in Lahaul Valley  and Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, Kaza boasts of high mountains with snowy crowns, crystal clear rivers, streams and barren splendor interspersed with patches of green. Kaza is known for its colorful festivals and the Sakya Tangyud Monastery. On arrival Kaza visit Sakya Tangyud Monastery, check in to hotel, after refresh explore Kaza town and local market and overnight stay at Kaza.

Day 06: Kaza – Rohtang – Manali (185 Km) Travel Time 9/10 hours (Approx)

After early check out from Kaza hotel and drive back to Manali, evening arrive at Manali, check in to hotel, after refresh free for own activities and overnight stay at Manali hotel.

Day 07: Manali – Delhi (573 Km) 12/14 Hours journey By A/C Volvo Coach

Morning check out from Manali hotel and free for independent activities. Later at 4.30PM (Reporting time is 4.00PM at Volvo bus stand) travel from Manali to Delhi by A/C Volvo coach by overnight journey.

Day 08: Arrival Delhi 

Morning arrive at Delhi and proceed for further journey back to home or onward destination.
