Chail – Chail is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh, India. It is 44 Km from Shimla and 45 Km from Solan. The Chail Palace is well known for its architecture. The Palace was built as summer retreat by the Maharaja of Patiala during the British Raj. The cricket ground and a polo ground which is there at an altitude of 2,250 Meters, was owned by erstwhile royal family of Patiala. It is the world's highest cricket ground. Chail is also frequented by hikers.

Kalka–Shimla Railway (Toy Train) – Is a 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow-gauge railway track in North India travelling along a mostly mountainous route from Kalka to Shimla. It is known for dramatic views of the hills and surrounding villages. The Kalka–Shimla Railway was built in 1898 to connect Shimla, the summer capital of India during the British Raj, with the Indian rail system. The route winds from the Himalayan Shivalik Hills foothills at Kalka to several important points such as Dharampur, Solan, Kandaghat, Taradevi, Barog, Salogra, Totu (Jutogh), Summerhill and Shimla at an altitude of 2,076 meters (6,811 ft). Kalka to Shimla and Shimla to Kalka toy train is available daily. It covers 96 Kms in 5 hours & 25 minutes of journey (Travel time is depend on the class of trains).

CHANDIGARH KALKA SHIMLA CHAIL KALKA

Day 01: Arrive at Chandigarh + Chandigarh Local Trip

Morning arrive at Chandigarh, meet to our representative, who will pick you from Chandigarh Airport/Railway station and take you to your pre booked hotel. After check in process, go to your room. After refresh, proceed for sightseeing tour of Chandigarh city and visit to Rose Garden, The Open Hand Monument, Rock Garden (Fantasy world of Mr. Nek Chand) and Sukhna Lake (A life line of Chandigarh city). In the evening explore famous shopping place of Chandigarh city at sector 17 by your own and overnight at Chandigarh hotel.

Day 02: Chandigarh – Kalka (28 Km – Travel time 1 hour) – Shimla (96 Km – By Toy Train Journey) Travel time 5/6 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Chandigarh hotel and drive to Kalka and transfer to Kalka Railway station to board the Toy Train to Shimla. On arrival at Shimla, check in to your pre booked hotel. Later free for your independent activities and overnight stay at Shimla hotel.  

Day 03: Shimla – Kufri – Fagu – Naldehra – Shimla (25 Km)

After breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Shimla and visit to several prominent tourist attractions of Shimla city and visit o Sankat Mochan Temple, Kali Bari Temple, Jakhu Hills/Temple, visit Indra Gandhi Tourist Bungalow at Kufri, enjoy horse ride at Kufri forest area, also visit to Fagu and Naldehra. Later return back to Shimla and visit to Scandal Point, Vice Regal Lodge and Christ Church. Evening free to stroll in the famous shopping place of Shimla city at The Mall & The Ridge, return back to hotel and overnight stay at Shimla hotel.

Day 04: Shimla – Chail – Shimla (44 Km) Travel time 1.5 hours (Approx)

After breakfast, drive to Chail – Chail is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh, India. It is 44 Km from Shimla. The Chail Palace is well known for its architecture. Day 05: Shimla Departure Railway Station – Kalka (96 Km – Journey by Toy Train) Travel time 5/6 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Shimla hotel and transfer to Shimla Railway station to board the Toy Train for further journey back to home or onward destination.
