Chennai – On the Bay of Bengal in eastern India, and it is the capital city of Tamil Nadu state. This city is home to Fort St. George, which was built in 1644 and now a museum. Its old name was Madras. The city is famous for its beaches and religious sites include Kapaleeshwarar Temple, adorned with carved and painted gods and St. Mary’s, a 17th-century Anglican Church. With its historic landmarks and buildings, long sandy beaches, cultural, art centers and parks, Chennai's tourism offers many potentially interesting locations to visitors. A notable tourist attraction in Chennai is actually in the neighbouring town of Mahabalipuram, with its ancient temples and rock carvings of the 7th century Pallava kingdom is an UNESCO World Heritage site. Chennai is the sixth most populous city of India and it is most visited city in India by foreign tourists.  

Kanchipuram – The city is located on the banks of the Vegavathy River, in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, 72 Km from Chennai city – the capital of Tamil Nadu (South India). The town's historical monuments are Kailasanathar Temple and the Vaikunta Perumal Temple and also known as one of the seven scared city of India. The town is well known for its hand woven Silk Sarees and most of the town's workforce are involved in the weaving industry.

Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram – Is one of the oldest cities in India, located at the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake, in the Kanchipuram district of South Indian State of Tamil Nadu. It is on the coastline 58 KM south of the city of Chennai. City is known for its ancient temples and monuments, built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries, with a group of Hindu monuments declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is one of the most visited towns in South India. The seafront Shore Temple comprises 3 ornate granite shrines. Krishna’s Butter Ball is a massive boulder balanced on a small hill near the Ganesha Ratha stone temple.

Day 01: Arrival at Chennai

Arrive at Chennai, our representative will pick you from Chennai Airport/Railway station and will transfer to your pre booked hotel. After refresh and some rest, free for your own activities and overnight stay at Chennai hotel.

Day 02: Chennai Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Chennai and explore several prominent tourist places of Chennai like Marina Beach – Is a 13 km long urban beach along the Bay of Bengal that runs from Fort St. George in the north up to Foreshore Estate in the south. It is India's longest beach and one of the world's longest beaches and attracts around 50,000 visitors during the weekends. Kapaleeshwarar Temple – Located in Mylapore, one of the most visited worship places by tourists visiting the city. Fort St George – Is the name of the first British fortress in India, founded in 1639 at the coastal city of Chennai. The fort is a strong hold with 6 Meters high walls that with stood a number of assaults in the 18th century. It is a feasible contention to say that the city evolved around the fortress. The Fort currently houses the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly and other official buildings. The Fort Museum contains many relics of the Raj, including portraits of many of the Governors. St. Mary's Church – Located inside the Fort St George, is the oldest Anglican Church East of Suez and also the oldest British building in India. The Church is popularly known as the 'Westminster Abbey of the East'. Santhome Cathedral – Is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Santhome. It was built in the 16th century by Portuguese explorers, over the tomb of Saint Thomas. This Church is one of the only 3 known Churches in the world built over the tomb of an Apostle of Jesus, the other 2 are located in Vatican City and Spain. Arignar Anna Zoological Park – Also known as the Vandalur Zoo, is a zoological garden, located in Vandalur, 31 Km from the city centre, a suburb in the southwestern part of Chennai. The park has 81 enclosures and more than 170 species of mammals, birds and reptiles. Birla Planetarium – Is a large planetarium in Chennai, located at Kottupuram in the Periyar Science and Technology Centre campus. It’s providing a virtual tour of the night sky and holding cosmic shows on a specially perforated hemispherical aluminium inner dome. People's Park – Is a recreational park in the city of Chennai. The park is one of the oldest parks and the most famous one in the Chennai city. Also visit to Kalakshetra – It is an arts and cultural academy dedicated to the preservation of traditional values in Indian art and crafts, especially in the field of Bharatanatyam dance and Gandharvaveda music. Later return back to your hotel and overnight stay at Chennai hotel.

Day 03: Chennai – Kanchipuram Temple Tour (72 Km / Travel time 1.30 hour) – Mahabalipuram (56 Km) Travel time 1 hour (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Chennai hotel and drive to Mahabalipuram en route visiting Kanchipuram. Upon arrival halt at Kanchipuram, proceed to visit Kamakshi Amman Temple – Is an ancient Hindu Shakti Temple dedicated to Kamakshi, one of the forms of Goddess Parvati. It is located in the historic city of Kanchipuram. Adi Sankara is closely associated with this temple and believed to have established the Kanchi Matha after this temple. Varadharaja Perumal Temple – Is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located in the holy city of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu in India. It is a suburb of Kanchipuram known as the Vishnu Kanchi that is a home for many famous Vishnu temples. Vaikunta Perumal Temple or Thiru Parameswara Vinnagaram – Is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it is located in Kanchipuram in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is declared as a heritage monument and administered by the Archaeological Survey of India as a protected monument. Kailasanathar Temple – Is the oldest structure in Kanchipuram, located at Tamil Nadu in South India, it is a Hindu temple in the Dravidian architectural style, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and is known for its historical importance. The temple is one of the most prominent tourist attractions of the Kanchipuram city. Ekambareswarar Temple – The temple is the largest temple in the Kanchipuram town, located in the northern part of the town. The temple complex covers 25 acres and is one of the largest in India. It houses four gateway towers known as Gopurams. The tallest is the southern tower with 11 stories and a height of 55 Meters, making it one of the tallest temple towers of India. Later go for shopping and buy famous Kanchivaram Silk Sarees. Later continue drive to Mahabalipuram (Also known as Mamallapuram). On arrival, check in to hotel and overnight stay at Mahabalipuram hotel.

Day 04: Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram) Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram (Also referred as Mamallapuram) and explore famous tourist places of Mahabalipuram and visit to Mahishasuramardhini Mandapa Cave Temple – Also known as Yampuri is an example of Indian rock-cut architecture of the Pallava dynasty, the temple is dedicated to the goddess Mahishasuramardini. It is a rock-cut cave temple located on a hill near a lighthouse, along with other caves in Mahabalipuram. The Mandapa is one of the most important caves in Mahabalipuram. The temple is a Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Varaha Cave – This cave has four impressive carvings of Vishnu, Gajalakshmi, Trivikama and Durga. Shore Temple – Is so named because it overlooks the shore of the Bay of Bengal. It is a structural temple, built with granite blocks. It is one of the oldest structural (versus rock-cut) stone temples of South India. It is also one of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Krishna Mandapam – Is a monument at Mahabalipuram, on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, in the Kanchipuram district of the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is part of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is constituted by an originally open-air bas-relief dedicated to Lord Krishna. Arjuna’s Penance or Descent of the Ganges – The Arjuna relief is in the centre of Mahabalipuram, facing the sea at a short distance from the shores of the Coramandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal where the Shore Temple is situated. The Arjuna's penance is one of the most famous stone carvings at Mahabalipuram/Mamallapuram. It is one of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram that were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pancha Rathas – Also known as Five Rathas is a monument complex at Mahabalipuram, located at the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, in the Kanchipuram district of South Indian State of Tamil Nadu. Pancha Rathas is an example of monolithic Indian rock-cut architecture. This complex is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also visit to Crocodile Farm, School of Art & Sculpture and Snake Venom Extracting Center. Enjoy beach activities at Mahabalipuram Beach – This beach is most popular tourist destination in Mahabalipuram and famous for diving, sunbathing, motor boating and wind surfing. Later return back to hotel and overnight stay at Mahabalipuram hotel.

Day 05: Mahabalipuram – Chennai (56 Km) Travel time 1 hour (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Chennai hotel and free for some time for shopping. Later drive back to Chennai, on arrival at Chennai, transfer to Chennai Airport/Railway station to board the flight/train for your further journey back to home or onward destination.
