ABOUT DESTINATIONS

Ooty (The Queen of Hill Stations) – Is also known as Udhagamandalam and is a beautiful hill station situated at an altitude of 2286 Meters above from the sea level, in the south India state of Tamil Nadu. The town is surrounded by trees, central Ooty Lake is a huge artificial expanse of water with pleasure boats. On the slopes of nearby Elk Hill, the Rose Garden is home to over 2,000 varieties of roses. The climate in Ooty is mostly pleasant and thus one can plan a visit at any time of the year except monsoon. Ooty is located 86 Km from north of Coimbatore and 158 Km south of Mysore and is the capital of the Nilgiris district. It is a popular hill station located in the Nilgiri Hills. The town is connected by the Nilgiri Ghat Roads and Nilgiri Mountain Railway. Its natural environment attracts tourists and it is a popular summer hill tourist destination of Tamil Nadu. Ooty is well connected to the road network. It is 306 km from Bengaluru (Via Mysore and Bandipur) 558 Km from Chennai (via Salem, Erode, and Coimbatore), 246 Km from Kannur, 180 Km from Calicut and nearly 100 Km from Wayanad. The Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) is one of the oldest mountain railways in Ooty, India and was declared by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in July 2005. It is the only Rack Railway in India and uses the Abt system. Mettupalayam which is 47 Km away from Ooty is the nearest major railway station. There are regular train services from Mettupalayam to Coimbatore and Chennai. Toy Train from Mettupalayam to Ooty covers a distance of 46 Km. Coonoor – It is located about 20 Km from Ooty, at an altitude of 1,850 Meters above from the sea level and it is the second largest hill station in the Nilgiri hills after Ooty. It is an ideal point for a number of trekking expeditions leading into the Nilgiris. Coonoor is a popular tourist destination with its lush green tea gardens and scenic view points. The popular tourist places in Coonoor are Sim's Park, Lam's Rock and Dolphin's Nose View Point.

Kodaikanal – Is a hill town, at an altitude of 2,000 Meters above from the sea level, located in the hills of Dindigul District of Tamil Nadu in South India. Kodaikanal is referred to as the "Princess of Hill stations". Kodaikanal is a popular hill tourist destination along with several scenic natural attractions which are enjoyed by its visitors and make it a popular romantic destination for newly married couples. 

Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala at height of 1,600 Meters above from sea level. Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in Idukki district of Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. Eravikulam National Park, a habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr, is home to the Lakkam Waterfalls, hiking trails and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak.

Thekkady is the location of the Periyar National Park, which is an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of South India. It is home to herds of Elephants, Sambar, Tigers, Gaur, Lion-Tailed macaques and Nilgiri Langurs. Thekkady is also considered as a heaven for natural spices such as Black Pepper, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Nut Mace, Ginger and Clove.

Kumarakom – Is a village on Vembanad Lake in the backwaters and it is popular tourist destination of Kerala in southern India. It’s laced with canals, where houseboats ply the waters. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is home to many species including cuckoos and Siberian storks. Nearby, the Bay Island Driftwood Museum displays wooden sculptures. In the lake, Pathiramanal Island is a haven for rare migratory birds. Ancient Thazhathangady Mosque is east of Kumarakom.

Cochin (also known as Kochi) is a city in southwest India's coastal Kerala state. Kochi also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea” was an important spice trading centre on the west coast of India from the 14th century onward. It has been a port since 1341, when a flood carved out its harbor and opened it to Arab, Chinese and European merchants. Sites reflecting those influences include Fort Kochi, a settlement with tiled colonial bungalows and diverse houses of worship. Cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, typical of Kochi, have been in use for centuries.

Day 01: Arrival at Coimbatore – Ooty Sightseeing Tour (87 Km) Travel time 3 Hours (Approx)

Upon arrival at Coimbatore, our representative will meet you at Coimbatore Airport/Railway station and will assist you to transfer to Ooty. Arrival at Ooty, it is a most beauty full hill tourist destination, located in Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu in South India. Check in to your pre booked hotel. After refresh and some rest, proceed for sightseeing tour of Ooty and visit some most popular tourist attraction in Ooty like Doddabetta Peak – It is the highest peak of the Nilgiris Hills at an altitude of 2,683 Meters above from the sea level, situated at about 10 Km from the Ooty, it is also the second highest peak of South India. It lies at the junction of the Western and Eastern Ghats surrounded by dense Sholas. The Botanical Garden – This botanical garden located in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. The Gardens, divided into several sections, cover an area of around 55 hectares and lie on the lower slopes of Doddabetta peak. The garden has a terraced layout. It is maintained by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department. Ooty Lake – This Lake is an artificial lake, covers an area of 65 acres. Day 02: Ooty – Coonoor Sightseeing Tour – Ooty (20 Km) Travel time 1 hour (Approx)

After breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Coonoor and drive to Coonoor, upon arrival at Coonoor explore most popular tourist places of Coonoor and visit to aromatic Tea Gardens of this beautiful hill station, birds watching is also main activity here. Later visit to famous Sim's Park – This botanical park is in Coonoor and located at a height of 1,780 Meters above from the sea level, it is an important tourist place to visit in Coonoor. The garden is visited by thousands of tourists throughout the year and even in winter. Lamb's Rock – Is a tourist spot in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, on the slopes of the Nilgiri Hills. It is located at a distance of 8 Km from Coonoor. This place offers panoramic views of Coimbatore plains, tea estates and coffee estates. Route to this place also offers trekking opportunities. Dolphin's Nose View Point – View point is a tourist spot, located at 10 Km from Coonoor in the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu. Dolphin's Nose is well over 1,000 ft. above from the sea level and is a spectacular spot to visit. The tip of the peak resembles a Dolphin's nose, hence the name Dolphin's Nose. Arrival at Ooty and also visit to Ooty Rose Garden – Formerly Centenary Rose Park, is the largest rose garden in India. It is situated on the slopes of the Elk Hill in Vijayanagaram of Ooty town at an altitude of 2200 Meters. This garden has one of the largest collections of roses in the country with more than 20,000 varieties of roses and won the Garden of Excellence Award for South Asia. In the evening explore local market of Ooty. Later, return back to your hotel and overnight stay at Ooty hotel.

Day 03: Ooty – Kodaikanal (255 Km) Travel time 6/7 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Ooty hotel and drive to Kodaikanal en route visiting Palani Murugan Temple – This ancient temple is one of the Six Abodes of Murugan. It is located in the town of Palani in Dindigul, about 100 Km southeast of Coimbatore city and northwest of Madurai in the foot-hills of the Palani hills in the south India state of Tamil Nadu. Later continue drive to Kodaikanal. Upon arrival at Kodaikanal, check in to hotel and overnight stay at Kodaikanal hotel.

Day 04: Kodaikanal Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Kodaikanal and explore prominent tourist attraction of Kodaikanal and visit to Pillar Rocks – It is 8 Km away from the Kodaikanal bus stand, Pillar Rock is a set of three giant rock pillars which stand at a height of 122 Meters. There is an excellent public garden adjacent to the viewpoint. This spot offers captivating view of lush green surroundings, it also offers magnificent view of the Vaigai Dam. Dolphin's Nose – It is 8 Km way from the Kodaikanal, is flat rock over a breathtaking chasm 6,600 feet (2,000 Meters) deep. Beautiful views of steep rocky escarpments rising from the plains can be seen. A short paved walkway leads from the road here to Pambar falls (which is also locally addressed as 'Liril Falls' after the famous Liril Soap Advertisement filming in 1985). Green Valley View – Formerly called Suicide Point, located at 5.5 Km from the Kodaikanal bus stand and near the golf course. It has an excellent panoramic view of the plains and a sheer drop of 1,500 Meters (4,900 ft) overlooking the Vaigai Dam to the south. Bear Shola Falls – Located 3 Km from the Kodaikanal bus stand and 2 Km from Kodaikanal Lake, is a tall waterfall in a Reserve forest. It is believed that bears come here to drink water which led to this name of the waterfalls as Bear Shola Falls. The final approach to this quiet area is a gently climbing foot-path. Pine Forest or Bryant Park – Mr. Bryant started the Kodaikanal pine plantations in the south-west of Kodaikanal in 1906 with a view to growing valuable timber. The Pine forest is a paradise for photographers and also beauty full place for nature lovers. Horse riding and walking is quite popular here. Coaker's Walk – Is a 1 Km paved pedestrian path built in 1872 by Lt. Coaker, running along the edge of steep slopes on the southern side of Kodai. Walking here is an unforgettable experience of life, which providing a stunning panoramic view of the plains. On a clear day one can view as far as Dolphin's Nose in the south, the valley of the Pambar River in the southeast, Periyakulam town and even the city of Madurai. Telescope House – Located at mid of Coaker's Walk on the northern tip, Telescope House is the best place, where you can take panoramic view of the surrounding areas such as Vaigai Dam, Sothupparai Dam, Periyakulam and Varaha River. Also visit to famous Kodaikanal Lake – Is an artificial lake, built in 1863. It is recognized as Kodaikanal's most popular geographic landmark and tourist attraction. The 5 Km path that skirts the periphery of this lovely lake is a favorite walk for the locals and tourists alike. Boating, horse riding, bicycling are a few of the popular activities around the lake. Day 05: Kodaikanal – Munnar (156 Km) Travel time 4/5 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Kodaikanal hotel and drive to Munnar with the mesmerizing view of Tea Plantations, Spice Plantations and the number of Waterfalls, you can stop over here and can capture some natural moments in your camera. On arrival at Munnar, check in to your pre booked hotel. After refresh and some rest proceed to visit Pothamedu View Point – Located 6 Km away from Munnar, it is a best place for nature lovers. Day 06: Munnar Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast proceed for visiting Munnar Tea Gardens. There are more than 50 tea estates in and around Munnar. Most of the plantations are taken over by the Tata Group. The Tea Estates of Munnar are beautifully spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometers and are surrounded by lush green hills. Also visit to Christ Church, Rose Garden, Mattupetty Lake & Dam, Eco Point, Kundala Dam, Munnar Tea Museum and Anamudi Peak. After lunch visit to Eravikulam National Park at Rajamalai (Optional) – Eravikulam National Park is a 97 km national park located along the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of Kerala in India. Day 07: Munnar – Thekkady Sightseeing Tour (83Km) Travel time 3 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Munnar hotel and drive to Thekkady. On arrival, check in to hotel. Thekkady is the location of the Periyar National Park, which is an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of India. It is home to herds of Elephants, Sambar, Tigers, Gaur, Lion-Tailed macaques and Nilgiri Langurs.
