Tamil Nadu Tour With Andaman Island
Chennai – On the Bay of Bengal in eastern India and it is the capital city of Tamil Nadu state. Chennai city is home to Fort St. George, which was built in 1644 and now a museum. Kanchipuram – The city is located on the banks of the Vegavathy River, in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, 72 Km from Chennai city (The capital of Tamil Nadu, south India. The town's historical monuments are Kailasanathar Temple and the Vaikunta Perumal Temple and also known as one of the seven scared city of India. The town is well known for its hand woven Silk Sarees and most of the town's workforce are involved in the weaving industry.
Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram – It is one of the oldest cities in India, located at the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake, in the Kanchipuram district of south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is on the coastline 58 KM south of the city of Chennai. City is known for its ancient temples and monuments, built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries, with a group of Hindu monuments declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is one of the most visited towns in South India. The seafront Shore Temple comprises 3 ornate granite shrines. Krishna’s Butter Ball is a massive boulder balanced on a small hill near the Ganesha Ratha stone temple.
Pondicherry – Pondicherry is a most popular tourist destination in South India. Pondicherry city is situated in the Puducherry district of the union territory in South India. Tanjore or Thanjavur – Tanjore is a city (Also referred as Thanjavur), located in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The most visited monument in Thanjavur is 11th-century’s Brihadeeswara Temple is located in the heart of the city, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Most of the Great Living Chola Temples are located in and around Thanjavur which are UNESCO World Heritage Monuments. Thanjavur is also important center of South Indian religion for an Art and Architecture. It is home to Tanjore painting, a painting style unique to the region. The city is also known for its Thanjavur Maratha Palace, Saraswathi Mahal Library, Thanjavur Art Gallery and Tamil University Museum. Thanjavur is an important pilgrim centre and a major tourist destination of Tamil Nadu.
Trichy/Tiruchirapalli – (Also known as Tiruchirapalli) is an ancient city, located in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, on the banks of Kaveri River. City is famous for its temples and Fort such as Ranganathaswamy Temple, with intricately carved gopurams (Towering gateways) and Jambukeswarar-Akilandeswari Temple, dedicated to the Lord Shiva. The Rock Fort Temple complex towers over the city center. The most famous land mark of this bustling town is the Rock Fort Temple. Trichy city is a thriving commercial centre in Tamil Nadu and is famous for artificial diamonds, cigars, handloom cloth, glass and wooden bangles and clay toys.
Port Blair – Is the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a union territory of India situated in the Bay of Bengal. It also serves as the entry point for visiting the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Port Blair is connected with mainland India by both air and sea. Though it is a 2-hour flight from mainland India to Port Blair, but it takes 3/4 days by sea to reach Chennai, Kolkata or Vishakhapatnam. Air connectivity to Port Blair is available from Chennai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Bhubaneshwar and Vishakhapatnam. All flights bound to Andaman and Nicobar Islands land at the Veer Savarkar International Airport. Day 01: Arrival at Chennai
Arrive at Chennai, our representative will pick you from Chennai Airport/Railway station and will transfer to your pre booked hotel. After refresh, free for independent activities or explore south India market and overnight stay at Chennai hotel.
Day 02: Chennai Sightseeing Trip
After breakfast, proceed for Chennai sightseeing tour and explore several prominent tourist places of Chennai like Gandhi Memorial (Mandapam) – Is a serial of memorial structures, situated on the arterial Sardar Patel Road, in Adyar, Chennai. Gandhi Mandapam is dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. It is built in a temple style and is the largest of the memorials in the complex. Fort St George – Is the name of the first British fortress in India, founded in 1639 at the coastal city of Chennai. The fort is a strong hold with 6 Meters high walls that with stood a number of assaults in the 18th century. It is a feasible contention to say that the city evolved around the fortress. The Fort currently houses the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly and other official buildings. The Fort Museum contains many relics of the Raj, including portraits of many of the Governors. St. Mary's Church – Located inside the Fort St George, is the oldest Anglican Church East of Suez and also the oldest British building in India. The Church is popularly known as the 'Westminster Abbey of the East'. Santhome Cathedral – Is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Santhome. It was built in the 16th century by Portuguese explorers, over the tomb of Saint Thomas. This Church is one of the only 3 known Churches in the world built over the tomb of an Apostle of Jesus, the other 2 are located in Vatican City and Spain. Kapaleeshwarar Temple – Located in Mylapore, one of the most visited worship places by tourists visiting the city. Kalakshetra (Art Gallery) – It is an arts and cultural academy dedicated to the preservation of traditional values in Indian art and crafts, especially in the field of Bharatanatyam dance and Gandharvaveda music. In the evening visit famous Marina Beach – Is a 13 km long urban beach along the Bay of Bengal that runs from Fort St. George in the north up to Foreshore Estate in the south. It is India's longest beach and one of the world's longest beaches and attracts around 50,000 visitors during the weekends. Later return back to your hotel and overnight stay at Chennai hotel.
Day 03: Chennai – Kanchipuram Temple Tour (72 Km / Travel time 1.30 hour) – Mahabalipuram (56 Km) Travel time 1 hour (Approx)
After breakfast check out from Chennai hotel and drive to Mahabalipuram en route visiting Kanchipuram. Upon arrival halt at Kanchipuram, proceed for Kanchipuram sightseeing tour and visit to Kamakshi Amman Temple – Is an ancient Hindu Shakti Temple dedicated to Kamakshi, one of the forms of Goddess Parvati. It is located in the historic city of Kanchipuram. Adi Sankara is closely associated with this temple and believed to have established the Kanchi Matha after this temple. Varadharaja Perumal Temple – Is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located in the holy city of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu in India. It is a suburb of Kanchipuram known as the Vishnu Kanchi that is a home for many famous Vishnu temples. Vaikunta Perumal Temple or Thiru Parameswara Vinnagaram – Is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it is located in Kanchipuram in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is declared as a heritage monument and administered by the Archaeological Survey of India as a protected monument. Kailasanathar Temple – Is the oldest structure in Kanchipuram, located at Tamil Nadu in South India, it is a Hindu temple in the Dravidian architectural style, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and is known for its historical importance. The temple is one of the most prominent tourist attractions of the Kanchipuram city. Ekambareswarar Temple – The temple is the largest temple in the Kanchipuram town, located in the northern part of the town. The temple complex covers 25 acres and is one of the largest in India. It houses four gateway towers known as Gopurams. The tallest is the southern tower with 11 stories and a height of 55 Meters, making it one of the tallest temple towers of India. Later go for shopping and buy famous Kanchivaram Silk Sarees. Later continue drive to Mahabalipuram (Also known as Mamallapuram). Day 04: Mahabalipuram Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram and explore popular tourist attractions of Mahabalipuram and visit to Arjuna’s Penance or Descent of the Ganges – The Arjuna relief is in the centre of Mahabalipuram, facing the sea at a short distance from the shores of the Coramandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal where the Shore Temple is situated. The Arjuna's penance is one of the most famous stone carvings at Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram). It is one of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram that were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pancha Rathas (Five Rathas) – Is a monument complex at Mahabalipuram, located at the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal in the Kancheepuram district of South Indian State of Tamil Nadu. Pancha Rathas is an example of monolithic Indian rock-cut architecture. This complex is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Shore Temple – Is so named because it overlooks the shore of the Bay of Bengal. It is a structural temple, built with granite blocks. It is one of the oldest structural (Versus rock-cut) stone temples of South India. It is also one of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later return back to hotel and overnight stay at Mahabalipuram hotel.
Day 05: Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry Sightseeing Tour (108 Km) Travel time 2/3 hour (Approx)
After breakfast check out Mahabalipuram hotel and drive to Pondicherry. Upon arrival, check in to hotel. After refresh, proceed for sightseeing trip of Pondicherry and explore most popular tourist attractions of Pondicherry and visit to Sri Aurobindo Ashram – Is a spiritual community (Ashram), located in Pondicherry, in the Indian territory of Puducherry. Today, Pondicherry has become an important destination for spiritual seekers as well as tourists. Thousands of visitors from all over the world come to the ashram. The Manakula Vinayagar Temple – It is one of the famous ancient temples in the city, dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple – Located on M.G. Road is oldest temple in Pondicherry. Ananda Ranga Pillai House – Is one of the oldest buildings in Pondicherry, located in the Grand Bazaar on Ranga Pillai Street. Day 06: Pondicherry – Tanjore/Thanjavur Sightseeing Tour (160 Km) Travel time 4 hour (Approx)

After breakfast at the hotel, move for an enthralling journey by harbor ferry to three Island Ross Island the capital of Port Blair during the British regime. North Bay Island (Coral Island) fill your eyes with exotic coral and marine life (go for snorkeling). Viper Island the gallows atop a hillock here is sight to watch. At evening, we proceed to Sagarika (The Government Emporium of Handcraft) and local market for shopping. In the evening return back to hotel and overnight stay at Port Blair hotel.
Day 11: Port Blair – Havelock Island (By Ferry/Boat Cruise – 41 Km)
After breakfast check out from Port Blair hotel and start your journey by ferry to one of the most beautiful Island across the Andaman such as Havelock Island – Is the largest of the islands that comprise a chain of islands to the east of Great Andaman in the Andaman Islands. It is a part of the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Havelock Island is located at 41 Km northeast of the capital city, Port Blair. Upon your arrival at Havelock Island, our representative will take you to your pre booked hotel/resort.
