ABOUT DESTINATIONS

Katra or Katra Vaishno Devi, as it is popularly known, is a small town in Reasi district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir situated in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains, where the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi is located. It is located around 50 km from the city of Jammu. Katra serves as the base camp for pilgrims who visit Mata Vaishno Devi. To reach Vaishno Devi Mandir (Temple) the pilgrims have to register at the Katra before starting the trek. By registering, the pilgrims get accident insurance while on the trek for 1 Lakh INR. It is a trek of 14 KM. There is another trek (1.5 km) from Vaishno Devi temple for Baba Bhaironnath. It is said that the pilgrimage is not complete until you visit this temple at last. The scenery throughout the trek is picturesque. Environment friendly auto rickshaws and helicopter services are available, to make the journey a pleasant one.

Patnitop is a hilltop tourist location in Udhampur district in Jammu & Kashmir state of India. Situated on a plateau in the Shiwalik belt of the Himalayas, Patnitop sits at an altitude of 2,024 Meters (6,640 ft) above from the see level. The river Chenab flows in close proximity to this location.

Jammu is the largest city in the Jammu Division and the winter capital of state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. It is situated on the banks of the Tawi River.

Dharamshala is located at Dhauladhar Mountain Range in the foothills of the Himalayas. Mc Leod Ganj is a suburb of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is also known as "Little Lhasa" in India, because of its large population of Tibetans.

Dalhousie and Khajjiar – Dalhousie quietly ensconced amidst pine trees with a charming background of the snow clad Himalaya, has a breathtaking scenic beauty. The hill station is surrounded by meadows and forests. It is about 6,500 feet (2,000 meters) above sea level in the foothills of the Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges of the Western Himalayas and peaks can be seen in the distance.

Day 01: Arrival at Jammu – Katra (50 Km) Travel time 1/2 hour (Approx)

Arrive at Jammu, pick up from Jammu Airport/Railway station and drive to Katra. On arrival at Katra, check in to hotel. After refresh free for independent activities or explore local market of Katra and overnight stay at Katra hotel.

Day 02: Katra – Trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan (12 Km)

After early breakfast, trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, the holy temple which is dedicated to Shakti. You may also hire the Ponies by your own for arranged trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Temple which is second largest visited temple by the devotees of India after the Tirupati Balaji Temple. During the Mata Vaishno Devi trekking stop at Ardhkuwari Temple. After the  Mata Vaishno Devi Temple darshan en route visit to Baba Bhaironath Temple (Compulsory visit). Later return back to Katra and overnight stay at Katra hotel. 

Day 03: Katra – Patnitop Sightseeing Tour (80 Km) Travel time 3 hours (Approx)
After breakfast check out from Katra hotel and drive to Patnitop. On arrival at Patnitop, check in to hotel. Patnitop – Is a hilltop tourist location in Udhampur district in Jammu & Kashmir state of India. Situated on a plateau in the Shiwalik belt of the Himalayas, Patnitop sits at an altitude of 2,024 Meters (6,640 ft) above from the see level. After refresh, visit to Naag Temple (Naag Mandir) – This temple is near Patnitop, standing amidst lush green surroundings, the temple is not only a significant religious point in Patnitop, but also a spot which leaves its visitors fascinated by the sceneries around. Nathatop – 14 Km away from Patnitop and a wonderful place which is thickly covered by snow during the winter months. Nathatop is an excellent place for adventure sports as ice skiing and Paragliding etc. The place has also three scenic fresh water springs in its proximity which are known for their medicinal qualities. Nathatop offers amazing views of western Himalayas. Sanasar – Is a beautiful Hill Station located at an altitude of 2,050 Meters. It is the hub for adventure sport activities in the Jammu region. The area is notable for its scenic views of mountain ranges and snow covered mountain ranges. Evening return back to hotel and free for independent activities or explore local market of Patnitop and overnight stay at Patnitop hotel.

Day 04: Patnitop – Jammu Sightseeing Tour (130 Km) Travel time 3/4 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Patnitop hotel and drive to Jammu. On arrival at Jammu, check in to hotel. Jammu is the largest city in the Jammu Division and the winter capital of state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. It is situated on the banks of the Tawi River. After refresh visit to Bahu Fort – Which also serves as a religious temple, is situated about 5 km from Jammu city on a rock face on the left bank of the river Tawi. Raghunath Temple – Amongst the temples in Jammu, the Raghunath Temple takes pride of place being situated right in the heart of the city. This temple is situated at the city centre and was built in 1857. Bagh E Bahu – Is located on the bank of Tawi River near the famous Bahu Fort. Evening explore local market of Jammu city and overnight stay at Jammu hotel.

Day 05: Jammu – Dharamshala (220 Km) Travel time 5/6 hours (Approx)

After breakfast, check out from Jammu hotel and drive to Dharamshala with the mesmerizing view of Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges. Dharamshala - Is located at Dhauladhar Mountain Range in the foothills of the Himalayas. Mc Leod Ganj is a suburb of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Day 06: Dharamshala Sightseeing Tour – Dalhousie (155 Km) Travel time 5/6 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Dharamshala hotel and proceed for half day local sightseeing tour of Dharamshala and visit to Naddi Village, Dal Lake (Holy Lake), St. John Church, Bhagsu Nag Temple, Bhagsu Water Fall, Tibetan Monastery, “His Holiness The Dalai Lama Temple” and Mc Leod Ganj – The Mall. Afternoon drive to Dalhousie with the mesmerizing view of Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges, evening arrive at Dalhousie, check in to hotel and overnight stay at Dalhousie hotel.

Day 07: Dalhousie – Khajjiar – Dalhousie (24 Km) Travel time 1 hours (Approx)

After breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Dalhousie and Khajjiar – Dalhousie quietly ensconced amidst pine trees with a charming background of the snow clad Himalaya, has a breathtaking scenic beauty. The hill station is surrounded by meadows and forests. Drive to Khajjiar en route visiting St. Francis Church, Bakrota Hills, Subhash Bowly, Panjpulla/Panchpula, Dainkund, Kalatop Sanctuary – Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary is an animal sanctuary at Kalatop and Khajjiar in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The sanctuary area is well laid out for trekking trails both at Kalatop and Khajjiar. On arrival at Khajjiar visit Khajji Lake – Khajjiar is also known as mini Switzer Land of India. It is the most exotic and scenic beauty place around 24 Km from Dalhousie. Khajjiar is officially proclaimed the mini-Switzerland of India. At an altitude of 6450 ft, this saucer shaped green meadow, ringed by Devadar Trees has a lake in the middle complete with floating island. Evening come back to Dalhousie, after refresh free to stroll in the famous shopping place of Dalhousie town The Mall at Gandhi Chowk and overnight stay at Dalhousie hotel.

Day 08: Dalhousie – Pathankot (90 Km) Travel time 3 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Dalhousie hotel and drive to Pathankot, afternoon/evening drop off to Pathankot Railway station/Chakki Bank to board the train for further journey back to home.
