ABOUT DESTINATIONS

Katra or Katra Vaishno Devi, as it is popularly known, is a small town in Reasi district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir situated in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains, where the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi is located. It is located around 50 km from the city of Jammu. Katra serves as the base camp for pilgrims who visit Mata Vaishno Devi. To reach Vaishno Devi Mandir (Temple) the pilgrims have to register at the Katra before starting the trek. By registering, the pilgrims get accident insurance while on the trek for 1 Lakh INR. It is a trek of 14 KM. There is another trek (1.5 km) from Vaishno Devi temple for Baba Bhaironnath. It is said that the pilgrimage is not complete until you visit this temple at last. The scenery throughout the trek is picturesque. Environment friendly auto rickshaws and helicopter services are available, to make the journey a pleasant one.

Shree Shiv Khori – Shiv Khori is a famous cave shrine of Hindus devoted to Lord Shiva, situated in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir state in India.

Patnitop is a hilltop tourist location in Udhampur district in Jammu & Kashmir state of India. Situated on a plateau in the Shiwalik belt of the Himalayas, Patnitop sits at an altitude of 2,024 Meters (6,640 ft) above from the see level. The river Chenab flows in close proximity to this location.

Srinagar is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir, situated at an altitude of 1,585 Meters or 5,200 ft above from the see level. It lies on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus, Dal and Anchar lakes. The city is famous for its gardens, waterfronts and houseboats. It is also known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and dried fruits. There are a number of lakes and swamps in and around the city. These include the Dal, the Nigeen, the Anchar, Khushal Sar, Gil Sar and Hokersar.

Yusmarg or Yousmarg is a hill station in the western part of Kashmir Valley in Jammu and Kashmir. It is believed by the natives that Jesus came to Kashmir and stayed at Yusmarg for some time. It is an alpine valley covered with snow clad mountains and the meadows of Pine and fir, it is located in the Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir in the Pir Panjal peaks, a sub range of Himalaya. It is situated at the bank of Doodganga River which is a tributary of Jehlum River. Yusmarg is a famous town for horse riding, fishing and skiing during winter and for photography.

Manasbal Lake is located in Ganderbal District in the State of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The name Manasbal is said to be a derivative of the Lake Manasarovar. Lake is encircled by three villages viz, Jarokbal, Kondabal (also called Kiln place, is situated on the north-eastern side of the lake) and Ganderbal and is stated to be the deepest lake (at 13 m or 43 ft depth) in India. The large growth of lotus at the periphery of the lake (blooms during July and August) adds to the beauty of the clear waters of the lake. The lake is a good place for bird watching as it is one of the largest natural stamping grounds of Aquatic birds in Kashmir.

Sonmarg is very popular tourist spot in Kashmir and is famous for its natural beauty, alpine flowers, evergreen pine trees and silver birch. Here enjoy the lovely view of the nature which is simply mesmerizing and beyond words to describe.

Gulmarg is a town and another beautiful hill station in Jammu & Kashmir. It is a popular skiing destination and a notified area committee in Baramula district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Gulmarg lies in a cup shaped valley in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, situated at an altitude of 2,650 Meters (8,694 ft). Gulmarg is the "heartland of winter sports in India" and was rated as Asia's seventh best ski destination.

Pahalgam is a town and a notified area committee in Anantnag district of the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. It is a popular tourist destination and hill station. Pahalgam is located on the banks of Lidder River at an altitude of 7,200 feet (2,200 Meters) above from see level. Pahalgam is the headquarters of one of the five Tehsils of Anantnag district. Pahalgam is associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra.

Jammu is the largest city in the Jammu Division and the winter capital of state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. It is situated on the banks of the Tawi River.

Amritsar is a city in the Indian state of Punjab. At the center of its walled old town, the gilded Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) is the holiest Gurdwara (religious complex) of the Sikh religion. It’s at the end of a causeway, surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar tank (lake), where pilgrims bathe. Wagah Border is the only road boarder crossing between Pakistan and India between Amritsar and Lahore cities. The international border between India and Pakistan is located at a distance of 34 km from Amritsar city.

Day 01: Arrival at Jammu – Katra (50 Km) 1/2 Hours drive

Arrive at Jammu, pick up from Jammu Airport/Railway station and straight drive to Katra. On arrival at Katra, check in to hotel. After refresh free for independent activities or explore local market of Katra and overnight stay at Katra hotel.

Day 02: Katra – Trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan (12 Km)

After early breakfast, trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, the holy temple which is dedicated to Shakti. You may also hire the Ponies by your own for arranged trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Temple which is second largest visited temple by the devotees of India after the Tirupati Balaji Temple. During the Mata Vaishno Devi trekking stop at Ardhkuwari Temple. After the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple darshan en route visit to Baba Bhaironath Temple (Compulsory visit). Later return back to Katra and overnight stay at Katra hotel. 

Day 03: Katra – Shree Shiv Khori – Katra (97 km) Travel time 3/4 hours (Approx)

After breakfast drive to Shree Shiv Khori – Shiv Khori is a famous cave shrine of Hindus devoted to Lord Shiva, situated in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir state in India. Baba Dhansar – Located at a distance of 17 km from Reasi district of Jammu & Kashmir is a small village named Karua. The holy shrine of Baba Dhansar is situated here and can be reached after a walk of 200 m from the main road. The holy place is a scenic treat to the eyes. It's a delight for tourists visiting this place to see a number of waterfalls here, which flow in full streams to eventually join Banganga River, which is the starting point for a yatra from Katra to Bhawan, also Naudevi Darshan. Evening come back to Katra hotel and overnight stay at Katra hotel. 

Day 04: Katra – Patnitop – Srinagar (280 Km) Travel time 8 hours (Approx)
After breakfast check out from Katra hotel and drive to Srinagar en route visiting Patnitop. Patnitop – Is a hilltop tourist location in Udhampur district in Jammu & Kashmir state of India. Day 05: Srinagar Local Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, proceed for local sightseeing tour of Srinagar city and visit to the colour full Mughal Gardens – Mughal Gardens are a group of gardens built by the Mughals in the Persian style of architecture. This style was heavily influenced by the Persian Gardens particularly the Charbagh structure. Chashma Shahi – Also called Chashme Shahi, is one of the Mughal gardens built in 1632 around a spring by Ali Mardan Khan, a governor of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. This beauty full garden presents Mughal architecture as used in different Mughal gardens. The artistically build garden has Iranian influence in its art and architecture and the design is based on the Persian gardens. Pari Mahal – The Pari Mahal was built by Mughal Prince Dara Shikoh in the mid-1600s. It served as a library and an abode for him. Pari Mahal or The Angels' Abode is a seven terraces garden located at the top of Zabarwan mountain range over-looking city of Srinagar and south-west of Dal Lake. Shalimar Bagh – Is a Mughal garden in Srinagar, linked through a channel to the northeast of Dal Lake, on its right bank located on the outskirts of Srinagar city. Nishat Garden/Bagh – Nishat Bagh is a terraced Mughal garden built on the eastern side of the Dal Lake, close to Srinagar in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is the second largest Mughal garden in the Kashmir Valley. The largest in size is the Shalimar Bagh, which is also located on the bank of the Dal Lake. Shankaracharya Temple – The Shankaracharya Temple which lies on a hill top in the middle of the city and it is dedicated to Lord Shiva, besides the Kheer Bhawani Temple are important Hindu temples in the city. Evening return back to hotel en route you can also explore local market of Srinagar and visit the local Handicraft Emporium and get an insight of Kashmir’s arts, Crafts, Carpet making traditions and traditional Jewelleries. On arrive at hotel/house boats, overnight stay at Srinagar hotel.

Day 06: Srinagar – Yusmarg – Srinagar (47 Km) Travel time 2 hours (Approx)

After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing tour of Yusmarg and drive to Yusmarg. Yusmarg or Yousmarg is a hill station in the western part of Kashmir Valley in Jammu and Kashmir. After breakfast check out from Gulmarg hotel and drive to Pahalgam via Pampore, Avantipura and the village of Bijbehara which remains famous as the bread basket of Kashmir. After refresh visit famous Raghunath Temple – Raghunath Temple consists of a complex of seven Hindu shrines, each with its own Shikhara. It is one of the largest temple complexes of north India. Day 14: Jammu – Amritsar (205 Km) Travel time 5 hours (Approx)

Day 15: Amritsar Local Sightseeing – Wagah Boarder – Amritsar (34 Km) 1 Hour journey

The dome of the Gurdwara is gilded with gold, popularizing it by the name of “The Golden Temple”.  Durgiana Temple – The Durgiana Temple, also known by other names of Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Durga Tirath and Sitla Mata Mandir, is a premier Hindu temple of Punjab, India. Afternoon drive to Wagah Border – Wagah is the only road boarder crossing between Pakistan and India between Amritsar and Lahore cities. The international border between India and Pakistan is located at a distance of 34 km from Amritsar. On arrival at Wagah Boarder watch the flag closing ceremony at Indo – Pak boarder. Later drive back to Amritsar and free for your own activities, Amritsar is also famous for delicious food, so you can test it by exploring local market of Amritsar and overnight at Amritsar hotel.

Day 16: Amritsar Departure Airport/Railway Station

After breakfast check out from Amritsar hotel and transfer to Amritsar Railway station/Airport to board the train /flight for further journey back to home or onward destination.
