Pilgrimage Tour Packages

Char Dham/Chhota Char Dham of Uttarakhand is defined by the Pandavas in Mahabharata as "Badrinath", "Kedarnath", "Gangotri" & "Yamunotri" to get rid of their sins. Char Dham as defined in modern days (Small Four Abodes) are the names of four pilgrimage sites in the Indian state of Uttarakhand that are widely revered by Hindus. Land of Uttarakhand is also known as Dev Bhumi (“Land of Gods”). It comprises Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri and Rameswaram. It is considered highly sacred by Hindus to visit Char Dham during one's lifetime. The Char Dham defined by Adi Shankaracharya consists of four Vaishnative pilgrimages. The ancient pilgrimages sites in the Indian state of Uttarakhand as Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath were known as Chhota Char Dham to differentiate them from the bigger circuit of Char Dham sites.

Kedarnath is a town located in the district of Rudraprayag in the state of Uttarakhand, India and has gained importance because of Kedarnath Temple. Kedarnath Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini River. It is one of the four sites in India's Chhota Char Dham pilgrimage. Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open only between the end of April (Akshaya Tritriya) to Kartik Purnima (the autumn full moon, usually November). The temple is not directly accessible by road and has to be reached by 18 Km up hill trek from Gaurikund. Pony and Manchan service is available to reach the temple. The temple was built by Pandavas and revived by Adi Sankaracharya and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu shrines of Shiva.

Badrinath is a holy town located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, on the banks of the Alaknanda River. Badrinath has an average elevation of 3,100 Meters (10,170 feet). The town lies between the Nar and Narayana mountain ranges 9 km east of Nikantha peak (6,596m). It is the most important of the four sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage and gets its name from the temple of Badrinath. The Badrinath Temple is the main attraction in the town and it is one of the four sites in India's Chhota Char Dham pilgrimage.

Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River and the seat of the Goddess Yamuna in Hinduism. It is situated at an altitude of 3,293 Meters in the Garhwal Himalayas and located approximately 30 Km North of Uttarkashi district in the Garhwal Range of Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the four sites in India’s Chhota Char Dham pilgrimage. The sacred shrine of Yamunotri, source of the river Yamuna, is the westernmost shrine in the Garhwal Himalayas, perched atop a flank of Bandar Poonch Parvat. The chief attraction at Yamunotri is the temple devoted to the Goddess Yamuna and the holy hot water springs at Janki Chatti (7 Km away). The temple of Yamuna was constructed by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. The deity is made of black marble. Close to the Yamuna temple is hot water springs gushing out from the mountain cavities. Surya Kund is the most important Kund. Near the Surya Kund there is a Shila called Divya Shila, which is worshipped before Puja is offered to the deity.

Gangotri is a town, located in the Uttarkashi, district of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated on the Greater Himalayan Range, at a height of 3,100 meters (10,200 ft). It is a Hindu pilgrim town on the banks of the river Bhagirathi and origin of River Ganges. Gangotri is also one of the four sites in India’s Chhota Char Dham pilgrimage. The original Gangotri Temple was built by the Nepalese general Amar Singh Thapa (On the western region of Garhwal Hills). In the pilgrimage journey of Chota Char Dham, Gangotri is often visited after Yamunotri Pilgrims generally make Uttarkashi as their base camp. The time taken from Uttarkashi to Gangotri temple is about 4 hours by road.
